The MSN instant messenger, the hugely popular chat app will soon be hosting short clips from Channel 4 and EMI.
This is all part of the launch of Messenger TV, a drive by Microsoft to bring video to the MSN messenger, a service that hasn't changed much since it launched in 1999. Around 14 million unique users have the service in the UK alone, making it a massively popular service. Messenger TV will also be using content from MSN Video - meaning access to MTV clips and music videos, and content from ITN, Reuters and National Geographic.
Channel 4 hopes that it can tap in to the young instant messaging service and drive linkback to 4oD.
