Maybe it's just me but I'm finding the new SkyPlayer MUCH better than before. The streaming is ace and even my login is now more stable and reliable. I've yet to have a time out or be kicked off the system during registration. Whatever they are doing it is working. Well at least it is for me.

I have to disagree. Sky should have hired the guys who coded iPlayer.
After 3 hours of registering, I finally got registered. The biggest gripe I have with Sky Player, if the fact I have to login every time I want to do something. Why not have a remember me function? Streaming, whats that then? Don't work for me. Oh and why use the old Anytime name on a product relaunch, bad planning if you ask me. May have to tell someone off soon, very soon!

The problem with SkyPlayer is that its still crippled by DRM that makes it dificult to register, install and use. You still have to call sky after getting errors if you deregister one PC and want to reregister a new one.
How many people must have tried it and given up because of this clunky outdated proceedure? I know several who never got it to work. Sky must be losing people to other services because of this. Having said that, if you do get it to work the quality is stunning. Really really nice. The streaming function is the new PLAY button under a picture on the content download page. Works fine for me. I watched the movie War last night. Christ, it's awful. But at least its awful in great quality... Last edited by ChunkyMonkey; 29-05-2008 at 07:11 AM. |
