Default Virgin Media boss dismisses net-neutrality as "bollocks"

"This net-neutrality thing is a load of bollocks," said Neil Berkett, the recently confirmed chief executive of British cable company Virgin Media, as reported in the Royal Television Society magazine. He suggested that those that would not pay for faster delivery, like public service broadcasters such as the BBC, might end up in slower "bus lanes".

Default I read that as: Virgin Media boss says "it's bollocks"

He's not joking. I was with them and after a massive fight managed to get my money back. Virgin can go get f****d.

BoingBoing pwns Virgin

BoingBoing are with you. Net neutrality FTW!

This has really been a case of Virgin shooting themselves in the foot.

Default "Bus lanes for content providers who won't pay..."

Christ they really haven't learned anything from the fight with Sky. If you buslane (lets say) iPlayer, are people going to bravely pay Virgin to join their protest against the nasty BBC, or are they going to go to an ISP that lets them grab what they want from iPlayer without any hassle?

Advertising you service to consumers by saying "some content is super fast and some of it is super slow" is NOT the way to gain subscribers IMHO.
